Another Bump In The Road of The Evans Adventure....

Okay this might be a long story.  Over the past week or so I have been battling heart burn.  Ilyssa has been home from school for the last two days with a stomach bug.  I woke up this morning feeling just fine.  After I got off the phone with Papa and I ended up getting really sick and I had blood coming up with it so I decided to go to the ER.  They took a lot of blood and I was diagnosed with H.Pylori.  They are putting me on antibiotics to get rid of it.  There is a less than 2% chance that if left untreated can turn into stomach cancer.  I have to keep my stress level down and that will help keep the ulcer in my stomach from acting up.  I will keep everyone informed on how I am doing, please send prayers our way.  We love and miss everyone.

Kristi (Mama Evans) joined the work force again today

Well everyone today was my first day at work!  All I have to say is OMG i hurt and I am exhausted!  However, work was good I was really busy, when you work in the payroll/logs department of a trucking company it probably is not a good idea to start work on the day before a payday!  The girls did okay staying by themselves for a little while until I got home from work.  I just hope I can continue to work like this...  I know this is short but I am going to bed.  Love to all

First Days and New Beginnings

Hello Everyone!
Today was the girls first day of school.  We are having some difficulties however, we are doing okay.  The girls are rebelling a little but its like I told the girls we have all got to stick together and work as a team to make all of this work out.

On a happier note, there is a yarn shop here in Crete, that sells all sorts of threads and things for crocheting and knitting.  She also, buys things from local ladies like blankets and doilies.  She no longer has time to work on custom orders and doilies.  She was looking for someone to help.  I told her that i could fill in, she told me to make a doily and bring it in to her, so she can see my work before she agrees to anything.  So I started a doily and brought it into her on Friday and she loves my work!  It is so nice to hear someone other than my family admire my crochet works of art.  I figured my family was telling me they were beautiful because they love me not because they are really good.

Well I started this post yesterday and am finishing it today, they girls had a really good day their first day of school.  They made a lot of friends and really like their teachers.  I hope to start work tomorrow (Thursday).  I will post more later.

We love you all and miss everyone like crazy.

The Evans pack has landed!!!! (Lord help Crete, Nebraska.

Well everyone we are here...  It has been a week of hell.  We arrived into Crete, NE last Sunday and as soon as we passed into Nebraska from Kansas we lost our cell phone service.  We were hoping that it would come back once we got into Crete, no such luck.  I called AT&T and found out that there is no AT&T towers in Crete.  There is a tower about 10 miles away.  I guess their advertisement that says "Nationwide service" and "Anywhere in the US" they don't mean all of the US.  So we paid over $500 to start our service for nothing and though they are willing to not charge us the early disconnect fee, we probably will not get our deposits back.

We found another cell service up here in Nebraska through US cellular and we found out that we could get all of us the kids included for just $25 deposit per line.  For the deposits and the price of the phones it was going to be $605, we called the Bossman and he said he could get us cheaper phones.  Before we knew it he showed up at the house with two cell phones for us in his name.  (OMG I can't believe it!)  No they are not the phones that we wanted and we were not able to get phones for the girls which they need but we will get them soon.  I have filled out all the paperwork to go to work.

I start back to work on Wednesday, I am so scared!  The owner's wife and I had a "moment" a while back about Papa's logs.  I will be working in her office, I hope that the fight we had back then is not going to cause problems.  I hope that she will not have it out for me.

We are slowly getting the house in order, I will upload pictures of the house as soon as I can.  Our new address is:
1621 Ivy Ave
Crete, NE 68333
My cell phone is 402-826-1671
Papa's cell is 402-826-1672

The girls school does not have school on Monday and they start their new school on Tuesday.  We miss everyone back home however, I think that this move is going to be good.  This move has more than cut our bills in half.  Our monthly bills are not even equal to what our rent was in Denver.  That is it for not will add more later.
